Cultural Transformation Tools (CTT)

Overview and Product Features

Think about the last time you worked in an organisation where there was excitement in the air; where you felt the organisation cared about your growth and development; where everything possible was done to enhance the customer experience; and where everyone was pulling in the same direction. Almost certainly, that was a high performing organisation.

The purpose of CTT is to support leaders in building high-performance, values-driven cultures that attract and keep talented people and increase staff engagement.


 

CTT provides leaders, consultants, and coaches with one of the most detailed and comprehensive cultural diagnostics and values assessment instruments commercially available.

CTT surveys provide the input you need to plan and manage your change initiatives, your cultural transformation programmes, your diversity interventions, your talent management and leadership development initiatives, and your customer feedback. They make the intangibles tangible and provide lead indicators for measuring individual and collective performance.

Individuals can access the CTT values assessments by completing the Part 1 CTT two-day certification training. The Part 2 course, a three-day training, is designed to gives practitioners the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Cultural Transformation Tools, and explores practical applications for working with the results of the values assessments. Both the CTT Part 1 and Part 2 courses are available in multiple languages throughout the world. There is also the option of attending the training in an online eLearning format.

The CTT survey instruments have been used to map the values of all types of organisations, as well as nations, communities and schools.

  • Individuals, Teams, and Organisations - CTT can be used for individual coaching, leadership development, organisational or team transformation, and whole system change
  • Short Survey - The CTT assessment instruments are available on-line and require only 15-20 minutes to complete
  • Customisable - The CTT assessment instruments can be customised to the specific cultural and demographic needs of the groups being surveyed
  • Demographics - The richness of the survey data is determined by the depth of demographic categories chosen. There is no limit to the number of demographic categories you can choose
  • Affordable - CTT is affordable for both small and large organisations. Costs are based on the number of reports requested, not the number of survey participants. Reduced fees are available for developing countries and for primary and secondary educational institutions
  • Multiple Languages - The survey is currently available in multiple languages or written dialects. Additional languages can easily be added.
  • Fast Turnaround - A Cultural Values Assessment typically goes from survey initiation to reporting in two to four weeks


The Models

There are two models that are used to analyse the data collected by the CTT survey instruments – the Seven Levels of Consciousness Model, also known as the Barrett Model, and the Business Needs Scorecard (BNS).

The Barrett Model is an adaptation and extension of Maslows model of the hierarchy of human needs. An overview of the model can be found at the following link, The Barrett Model (PDF). Using the Cultural Transformation Tools

There are three main types of user of the Cultural Transformation Tools (CTT)—consultants, change agents, and coaches. If you want to use the CTT in your organisation, you can either contact a local accredited CTT consultant or coach, or train one of your own in-house change agents.   • CTT Part 1 – Models & Tools: You can become an accredited user of the Cultural Transformation Tools by attending a CTT Part 1 Workshop. This two-day workshop is the foundation of the CTT training program and covers the Seven Levels of Consciousness model, the different types of values assessments that are available, the results and indices that are generated from the surveys, how to interpret the data, and how to work with the Barrett Values Centre in commissioning surveys. The CTT Part 1 Training is available in a classroom learning environment or over the internet in an eLearning format. Upon successful completion of the course, you will become a member of the global CTT Network and be able to begin using the Cultural Transformation Tools with your clients or within your own organisation. The Part 1 course is based on Richard Barrett’s book Liberating the Corporate Soul 
  • CTT Part 2 – Building a Values-Driven Organisation: The second phase of CTT training is designed to help you deepen your understanding of the CTT Models and Tools, and the process of cultural transformation. This three-day course gives you an opportunity to go more deeply into interpreting the results of values assessments, shows you how to deliver the feedback from a Leadership Values Assessment (LVA), gives you the experience of using the “Four Why’s” process for developing Vision/Mission statements, shows you how to choose your organisation’s espoused values, and how to develop behaviour statements for the chosen values, and much more. The CTT Part 2 course is available in a classroom style learning environment or over the internet in an eLearning format. Once you have completed CTT Part 2, you will have access to some additional reporting options based on the increased data analysis experience gained from the course. The Part 2 course is based on Richard Barrett’s book Building a Vision-Guided Values-Driven Organisation. For more information, see:
